How do I inject my pen?

Always follow the instructions for your specific medication. The pen comes with a leaflet that walks through the steps in detail — read it first.

General process

1. Wash your hands
2. Take the pen out of the fridge 15-30 minutes before use (for Mounjaro and Saxenda — Wegovy is already at room temperature)
3. Check the medication looks clear and colourless. Don't use if cloudy or with particles
4. Attach a new needle if needed
5. Choose your injection site — stomach, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate weekly
6. Inject at 90° to your skin, hold for 5-10 seconds (longer for some pens)
7. Dispose of the needle in a sharps bin

Tips

• Use a different injection site each week to avoid skin irritation
• Don't reuse needles
• Don't inject through clothing
• Set a weekly reminder so you don't miss a dose
