Most side effects from GLP-1 medications are mild, temporary, and tend to settle within a few weeks as your body adjusts. They're usually most noticeable after a dose increase.
Most common
- Nausea — affects up to 1 in 3 people, usually mild
- Reduced appetite — this is part of how the medication works, not a problem unless extreme
- Constipation or diarrhoea
- Tiredness
- Burping or reflux
- Headache
- Injection site reactions — small lumps, redness, or itching where you injected
Less common but worth knowing about
- Dizziness or lightheadedness (often from not eating or drinking enough)
- Hair thinning (usually linked to rapid weight loss, not the medication itself)
- Changes to taste
- Vivid dreams
If a side effect is bothering you, don't suffer in silence — message your Bliss coach or clinical team. We can often suggest simple changes that help, or in some cases pause your dose increase.
