Nausea is the most common side effect — particularly in the first few weeks and after dose increases. The good news is it usually settles, and there's a lot you can do to ease it.
Things that genuinely help
- Eat smaller meals, more often — large meals are harder to digest while your stomach is emptying more slowly
- Eat slowly and stop when you're full — your fullness signals are stronger now
- Avoid greasy, fried, or very rich foods — these are the biggest nausea triggers
- Stay hydrated — sip water through the day rather than gulping
- Try ginger — ginger tea, ginger biscuits, or ginger sweets are well-evidenced for nausea
- Get fresh air — sit by an open window or step outside
- Avoid lying down right after eating
